Dr. Suresh Kumar

Dr. Suresh Kumar has been practising as a Consultant Physician, Diabetologist and Endocrinologist at the SP Fort Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, since September 2000. With overall clinical experience of more than 20 years, he currently heads the department of Diabetes and Endocrinology at this hospital. Prior to this he was posted as Consultant Physician at the Jubilee Memorial Hospital. Post-MBBS he had served as Junior Resident in Medicine and Cardiology for two years (1992-94) at PRS Hospital, also in Thiruvananthapuram. After post-graduation, he was Registrar in Medicine at SUT Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram from August 1997 to January 1999.  

After completing the MBBS and MD programmes, Dr. Suresh Kumar obtained a Graduate Diploma in Diabetes Care from the University of Newcastle (Australia). He has also undergone a short fellowship in Diabetes at the Royal Prince Albert Hospital in Sydney, and a one-year fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at   Concord Repatriation Hospital, also in Sydney. Recently, he completed a postgraduate diploma in Endocrinology from the University of South Wales, UK.   

Dr. Suresh Kumar is a regular attendee of major international conferences connected to the fields of Endocrinology and Diabetes. Besides participating in several TV and radio shows over the years, he has also contributed with articles in newspapers, and has conducted Diabetes camps on World Diabetes Day for many years.
